DESCRIPTION:Leo Sofer (Valmiki) will be sharing about his journey as a spiritual seeker from the age of 16. \n“After many years of development through nonviolent communication and intuitive storytelling\, I found ascension\, a practice rooted in the Vedic wisdom of ancient India\, but presented in a contemporary form that makes it more accessible to westerners. \nI’ve learned that our minds are the principle limiting factor in our experience of life. As we become more aware of our thinking process and start to see it as just one small corner of our total experience of life\, we can start to experience a fuller and richer tapestry of life. Learning that we are less “in control” of our lives than we thought is actually a very liberating thing! \nThis will be an informal talk in which I’ll share some of my own journey\, and the limitations that even being “emotionally aware” and “intuitive” can have. I’ll then talk about ascension and how it has given me the “gold” I was looking for all my life: an intimate sense of life\, love and meaning that continues to expand! I’ll also talk about how ascension works\, what the experience of ascending is like\, and how you can learn it. \nI’ll be teaching a weekend introduction to ascension in Jellyfish on 26-28th April. Guided by the work of Marshall Rosenberg their award-winning dialogical social systems have been applied in contexts from gang-controlled favela shanty towns to the federal government and are now in use in 47 countries. DESCRIPTION:An evening of dynamic storytelling interweaved with sublime songs that will draw you into a remembering of your kinship with all life. Stories are an ideal way of remembering things we have always known but somehow have forgotten. \nLeo plays guitar and Sundara plays flutes of all description\, and they sing touching two-part harmony duets that will draw you deeper into the “mythic realm”\, that place where a part of us always lives\, waiting to be witnessed. An enchanting and enlivening evening! \nLeo Sofer has been telling stories for almost 30 years\, and has developed Intuitive Storytelling\, a way of giving voice to the stories we all carry inside which he has been teaching for many years. \nLeo and Sundara have been singing and playing music together since they first met 17 years ago\, and have led many community singing events over the years\, in the Findhorn Community in Scotland\, and also in Stroud\, Gloucestershire. Almost 200 relief block prints are on display as well as huge murals and shadow puppets created with Buckfastleigh-based shadow puppeteers\, Clockwork Moth.
