Storytelling for Children

Leo and Sundara perform children’s stories with music at The Dragon Sanctuary. These stories seek to convey a positive, uplifting and life-affirming message.

Leo has been storytelling since 1989. Sundara has been playing music since she was a child and now plays handpans, flutes and harmonium. Leo plays guitar and sometimes they sing together too. They have been setting stories to music together for over 20 years.

Their work can be found on Palace of Stories, where you can buy over 100 audio stories for children, as well as learn to tell your own Intuitive Stories for the children in your life.

One day a little girl discovered old woman living in the forest in a cottage filled with magical gems. What sort of magic was in those gems? Story-magic! Each one of them was filled with stories, and just the right stories for whoever most needed them….

Listening to the Birds

A girl always had a little bird following her around. Wherever she was, whatever she was doing, this little bird seemed to want to get her attention.

But although she tried to fathom what it had to say, she couldn’t understand its singing. Meanwhile, her friends had noticed her talking to a bird, and started making fun of her. Her teachers scolded her for being late for her lessons. She was getting into trouble, but she really wanted to find out what this bird was trying to tell her!

When she found out, the bird’s message was shocking. The volcano that her tribe lived beneath was about to erupt! Everyone must pack up and leave, or face disaster…

Leo Sofer plays guitar, Sundara Sofer plays handpan and flute

Claire’s Unbreakable Hair

Once there was a girl whose hair could not be cut. Her mother tried scissors, which only broke! Her father tried an axe. Same thing! But why? Why is she the only girl with magical hair? It takes a meeting with a wise old woman and many more adventures before she discovers what her hair is really for.
